ST. MARY OF THE ASSUMPTION CHURCH
Location: Katonah, NY
St. Mary of the Assumption, built in the countryside, was in need of a new interior design. Workshop SAS had the interior which came across as dim and dreary, enlivened with the addition of energy efficient chandeliers as well as brighter colors for the columns and trusses. The floor was laid out in wood with marble inlays, for the sanctuary area the order was reversed. The original liturgical furnishings were encased in mahogany paneling and trim while recreating the decorative motifs whenever possible. The renovations were done during the summer and fall of 2006 and opened for services in November of the same year to rave reviews.
